On June 3, 2016, I quit my job at Texas Parks and Wildlife and began a two-week journey north. First, I went home to the Rio Grande Valley, then my parents and I drove northeast to a family reunion in Hermann, MO. After the reunion, my parents and I headed north for Mount Rushmore before finally heading due west toward Seattle. I arrived at my new home on June 17, and I’ve loved every second of my life since. I spent the next couple months traveling around the PNW while looking for a job. I was hired at Wildlands Network in August, and I couldn’t love my job or my coworkers more. I miss Texas dearly, but the Pacific Northwest is holding my attention for now.
